Citadel runs on a public Java Edition Minecraft server.

When you join the server, the required resource pack downloads automatically. No mods or additional setup are needed. If you can connect, you can play.

How to Play

Citadel does not have a traditional tutorial. You enter the world with minimal instruction and learn through exploration, interaction, and discovery.

Most players begin by exploring the world, observing its structures and settlements, and deciding how they want to take part in it. Some align themselves with a kingdom, others remain wanderers and carve their own path.

First Steps

Not sure where to begin? Here are a few good starting points:

• Join a Kingdom. Find an established kingdom and request to join. You will gain access to shared land, resources, and protection from the start.

• Explore the Crownposts. These are the realm's fast travel points and hubs of activity. A good place to find other players and trade opportunities.

• Talk to NPCs. Settlements across the world are home to interactive NPCs that offer quests, trade, and hints about the world around you.

• Check the Discord. The Discord is the most active place for news, events, kingdom recruitment, and player interaction.

The wiki explains what exists and how it works, but understanding comes from being in the world.
