Kingdom Territory

When a kingdom is founded, it begins with a protected 100x100 territory centered on its capital. This land secures storage, infrastructure, and early development. Choosing where to settle is a strategic decision that influences defence, expansion, and access to resources.

Kingdoms can expand their territory through the Kingdom Upgrades system, growing up to a maximum size of 500x500.

Expansion Directions

When upgrading territory, kingdoms choose which direction to expand. Each upgrade adds land in a specific pattern depending on the chosen direction.

From the centre adds 50 blocks to each side equally, growing the territory outward in all directions.

Directional expansion focuses growth toward a specific side. Expanding to the north, for example, adds 100 blocks to the north and 50 blocks to the east and west, with no growth to the south. The same logic applies to each cardinal direction.

This means kingdoms can shape their territory strategically around natural borders, resources, or neighbouring kingdoms rather than being forced to expand symmetrically.

What Territory Means

Expansion is a permanent investment and reflects a kingdom's growth and long-term presence in the world. Expanding territory requires progression resources earned through kingdom activity, explained further in Treasury and Economy and Progression.

Territory is more than space. It represents safety, investment, and strategic control over the realm.
